Unfortunately, many of my middle school students have never known the magic or emotions that books can inspire. Characters have not captured their imaginations or shaped their views of the world outside of their inner-city home. I am on a mission to change this reality. I know that setting my students up to experience the emotions that flow when a good book really captures their imagination is the first step in creating a generation of readers, learners and thinkers. Research has shown that providing students with an easily accessible classroom library with books that will capture their interest is the first step in putting students on a path to experience this joy, feeling of confidence and success.

About my class
