Learning about the circulatory system using readings and diagrams is thorough, but why not jump in and collect data! Through my project, students will use various Vernier probes while engaged in different activities to learn about body systems and how they interact with one another. These Vernier probes will bring my students body systems alive as they learn how strenuous activities can change their numbers. Students will collect data on themselves and use that data to explain how their bodies function. Why does my blood pressure increase after doing 20 jumping jacks? If I do 20 jumping jacks a day for 2 weeks, what trend does my heart follow the longer I continue the exercise? Students will use their experiences to help them understand physiology.
