Teaching a diverse group of students requires a diverse set of materials. The books listed in this project share stories of people from many different cultures and backgrounds. My hope is to build a diverse library of read alouds to engage all students in my classroom. I am requesting two copies of each book so that myself and my co-teacher can both use a copy during small group instruction. My students connect to literature that relates to them! Theses titles were chosen to go along with Amy Lemon's Rooted in Reading Program. This program utilizes a different read aloud each week to teach a new standard. This project includes all of the read alouds necessary for August through December. Please help my students have access to relateable literature!
