My students are identified as English learners. They are a diverse mix of new and or recent immigrants to the United States who are placed in the Beginning to Intermediate levels of English language development. These bright and ambitious young men and women hail from different corners of the world: Ethiopia, Cameroon, El Salvador, Mexico, Iran, China, Japan, Indonesia, just to name a few! They are a wonderful, hardworking, and inquisitive bunch, and they are hungry for engaging books that reflect their rich backgrounds, cultures, traditions, and perspectives.

About my class
