My students are full energy and participate in active experiences all day long. They do get a chance to rest and after Rest Time they are usually hungry and like to have a little something to put in their stomachs before going home. Teaching students about good nutrition by providing healthy snacks can sometimes be challenging. I work with a population of families that is trying to provide the necessities for their children, so they don't always have extra money to purchase snacks for our class. Funding for this project would allow me to provide snacks for my students without having to burden parents by asking for donations. We would also be able to purchase a small refrigerator in which to store perishable snack items.
