These resources give students opportunities to self-regulate, manage emotions, and take calming breaks when needed. The sensory toys, in particular, provide a healthy outlet for students to refocus their energy. They like to pick out the characters and they love to experience the stories that they tell through the boxes. We are very happy that the Tonie Boxes are very durable. This helps with our tiny students and their little hands. They love the designs on them and the colorful images. They really like the red and green bean bags to sit on while reading their books and relaxing when they are having a hard time in the classroom. \r\n\r\nWhen we utilize the calming items like the Rainbow Liquid Sensory Viewers, they love to see the bright red, purple, blue, green and yellow slowly drip up and down. This provides a captivating and calming sensory experience for them. \r\n\r\nThe calming shoulder pad with the red dog is great for our students to improve their focus and concentration. We have new students with Autism and sensory needs and they just love the cute little dog on their shoulders, to help them stay on task. \r\n\r\nThe Watch-It-Roll Calming Tube is great for the students to flip and see the little red balls go up and down. It's a great edition to our calming area. It seems to work with them to watch the balls spiral down and around.
