The students in my classroom are so excited to engage in the listening center. Unfortunately, I have been able to invest only in the listening center and one read-along set (five book titles and CDs). The students are quickly reading all of the selections, and are eager for something new. It would be so very appreciated to have the listening center supplemented with new literature choices. The students have recently asked about collections of chapter books, too. During guided reading, they have discovered chapter books by select authors and have expressed an interest in exploring more titles. Seeing their enthusiasm is what makes teaching worth every minute. Our classroom library is limited in both content selection and reading level choices. Updating the library would continue to fuel the students' interest in reading and learning and prepare them for the future.
