To provide responsive care and education for my little learners, resources such as texts on autism and sensory issues will be utilized to share with peers of my exceptional learners, so that they can better understand the world through their eyes and can forge relationships with them that are considerate of their needs. These texts will also help those with sensory needs to understand that there are children just like them, whose needs are similar to theirs. Equipment such as bristle brushes, flexible seating, sensory balls, and bottles can be utilized when little ones are seeking sensory input or are in need of accommodations that better support them in the classroom. It is important to us that we support the needs of all of the little ones so that they can be successful in the classroom. We strive to meet little ones where they are and understand that it is our responsibility to support their learning and development in ways that are considerate of their individual needs and ability levels.
