Since Covid has interrupted our classroom teaching in many ways, we are now teaching in pods of 4 and keeping our contact tracing to a minimum. All of our students in 3rd grade are visual learners and want to learn to about how electricity works in a safe way and the Circuits Jr. will provide the opportunity for the kids to play in the classroom comfortably, many at a time. This helps them with the basic idea of how it all connects. We will also be learning about weather and the pet tornado will visually help them understand this process of stormy weather. A whole classroom set in their pods of 4 will help them to get to experiment and play with weather and understand the patterns of how a tornado is made. We will be doing a lesson in Magnets and how the planets will align magnetically. This helps visualize the process with the magnets and iron fillings and the direction of the magnetic force. These stem activities in Science will also help to build the self-esteem that they need and will enhance the environment in the classroom to making Science fun and exciting.
