3D printing will allow my students to gain experience in making art utilizing technology of the future. Utilizing the 3Doodler for individual use will work extremely well with exploring abstract and functional sculptures. Students can explore art history by printing famous artwork, making functional designs that hinge on the technologically advanced, and recreate their 2D art in a whole new dimension. My students have unimaginable talent when it comes to drawing 2 Dimensional Art; I want to help them take their talents further with a 3D printer so they can turn their art into 3 Dimensional Art to allow them to see a unique perspective on their masterpieces. Art can often be seen as a very traditional and antiquated career stuck in the Renaissance, yet there is an entire new world revolving around design, technology, and innovation. My students will benefit tremendously from being able to apply their art and design knowledge in various real world projects that will get them college and career ready in a quickly evolving work environment.
