Our school has no formal gymnasium. We utilize an empty classroom that has been converted into a gymnasium for the kids to achieve their Physical Education requirements. The basketball hoop was already broken prior to my arrival as a P.E. teacher and I can tell it was one of their favorite parts of gym class. Our students always wonder when the broken hoop is going to be fixed! We will utilize this to add to our Physical Education curriculum as students spend majority of the day indoors, especially when weather can sometimes keep us inside for majority of the Boston winter. It would also be very valuable for the kids to be able to also play during indoor recess.
