Reading is not just important, it is necessary in all aspects of life. Children need to learn to love to read before they will ever be able to dissect and discuss informational text handed to them in an assessment format. My goal this year is to read one picture book a day to my students. I will check out books from the local and school library, and I will purchase books at yard sales, thrift stores and online. I am hoping to get a jump start on this massive library (180 books plus) with the help of this donors choose project. Finding the perfect book to read can be an amazing feeling! Knowing how to find that book is critical to feeling successful. This project will help students understand what books they enjoy as well as which books meet their own reading needs.
