Much of chemistry involves applying conceptual knowledge with chemical equations, mathematical equations, and formulas. These problems can have many components and can get quite lengthy. It is beneficial for students to be able to see entire example problems worked out from start to finish. In my classroom I have a 3'x3' white board to use for working out long, sometimes very complex math and chemical equations. It is located on the left side of my front wall. The back left quadrant of the class struggles to see the board and keep up, and with 30+ students in every class there isn't always the option of moving closer to the board. A document camera would benefit my students by allowing me to work out entire problems at once. Currently I have to divide problems into sections and erase my work as I go. Chemistry is already a difficult course for many students and this can be confusing for struggling students.
