All students should be able to function in a classroom that is cool and comfortable during the last few months of school. The school building is a beautiful historic building that has had some improvements, but unfortunately, air conditioning is not one of them. We have several school-wide programs that support student achievement, but it is very difficult to motivate students when they are physically uncomfortable. During the last few months of school, the students are being tested for placement for the upcoming school year. Having a comfortable environment is crucial for academic success. Earlier in the year, to promote a classroom community, we planned and cooked a Thanksgiving Dinner. Unfortunately, it was a warm November day and we felt like a turkey in an oven. Having a COOLER classroom is a year-round​ necessity.
