This equipment will allow me to teach lifetime activities as well as some cooperative games to get them moving and start improving their health. Most of my children have never been bowling or participated in common lifetime activities. Getting equipment like Spikeball will increase their activity level and let them experience a brand new activity that can be played anywhere. Getting lighter weight bowling balls will enable me to teach my younger students bowling with the proper type of ball. With tight budgets, it is difficult to get even basic equipment such as the rhino balls that we use daily. I want to expose them to as many different types of exercise/activity as I can, so they can find something they like and continue for a lifetime. My students are energetic K-5 kids who love to move and try new activities and sports. Research supports the importance of an active healthy lifestyle to support academic learning which is important for all of my students.
