It is difficult to focus on learning when you don't feel good about yourself. Each week, I provide a guidance lesson on being not only resilient but kind. For the younger students, this concept is a little harder to grasp. Read alouds are a normal part of their school day. With your help, I can infuse character building lessons within their regular schedule while training teachers on effectively carry the message of resiliency and kindness throughout the day. I would like to target many of the social issues that they are learning to navigate through. If we teach our children how to resolve problems early, to consider other's feelings, and to appreciate reading, we can have a huge impact on them feeling successful at school.
