My students will use this Chromebook for a variety of reasons! My anxious students will finally have access to the numerous mindfulness apps at their fingertips. My students with autism will have a tool to assist with social skill development. All my students will have a resource to check their grades on the online gradebook. The Chromebook will also allow them to set goals digitally during our academic check-ins. This Chromebook will be a useful tool in allowing my 8th grade students apply to the various magnet high schools in our District. Our district's "Magnet Window" has opened and will close at the end of January. This is a busy time for me as a school counselor because I spend countless hours assisting students in their essay writing and applications for their high school of choice. As a counselor much of what I do is confidential therefore it is difficult for me to allow a student to use my work laptop. This Chromebook is a necessary resource which will greatly enhance my counseling program and positively impact my students.
