Many of students come from a background that has not been kind to them. They are fighters and want to be able to to succeed. Hurricane Irma recently made their lives even more difficult. They were out of school for 12 days, some without electrical power as well. The students worse off, were without their breakfast and lunch that the school provides for them. This project, that is being proposed, is aimed at improving their track and field skills, in order to create a better environment and future for themselves. The ability to train with sleds, parachutes, and plyometric boxes can guarantee that they will have tools available to them to improve their speed and agility. The Nike basilia bags will help them carry their sports equipmnt and uniforms, and the tents, tubs and starting blocks allow them to compete and restore themselves at an improved level. My students want to succeed individually and as a team. All that they are missing, are the tools to help get them to the top. With the addition of these tools,we will be able to see these students improve their craft and hopefully be able to compete at the next level in college.
