  • Fuel for Math Tutoring!

    Funded Apr 10, 2024

Thank you so much for all of your generous donations. The students and I are extremely thankful for your generosity. The excitement on their face to be able to have a snack during their tutoring session helps drive their passion to work hard and continue staying after-school to learn. Once again, thank you so very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. James-Morrow

  • Drinks for Math Tutoring

    Funded Mar 22, 2024

We want to take the time out to thank your for donating to our tutoring program. This will allow the students to have a nice cool drink as they are preparing for their EOC test. We all know a good snack and a drink gives our students an extra boost of energy to continue learning after being in classes all day. Thanks again!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. James-Morrow

  • A Journey Through a Math Journal!

    Funded Sep 26, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations to this project. Students were excited to be able to decorate their very own personal math journals. In these journals students were able to write down any questions or problems that needed additional support in and bring them to tutoring or in small group sessions for help. The students were given time to design the covers of their books so that when they saw them they were more excited about opening and writing inside of them! We appreciate your support in ensuring the students are able to enjoy learning!!!!”

  • Snacks for Math Tutoring! Part 1

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

We would like to thank you for your donations. With the incentive of having snacks at in-school tutoring and out of school tutoring, more students were in attendance and ready to learn. Students were so excited to see the snacks when they arrived to tutoring and even more excited when they realized they were able to get snacks each time they attended a session. With more students coming to tutoring even for the snacks, we were able to reach more students academically and help more students grow and be proficient on their End of Course assessments.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. James-Morrow

  • Snacks for Math Tutoring! Part 3

    Funded Feb 11, 2022

My students were grateful for the snacks. They participated in class more knowing that they could earn a snack on Fridays. They also came to tutoring because they could get a snack before it started to keep their stomachs satisfied until they got home for dinner.

When they first saw the snacks they were so excited. They kept saying all I have to do is participate? All I have to do is come to tutoring? That's exactly what they did. There were even days when someone didn't like the school lunch or forgot theirs and were able to grab a snack to hold them throughout the day.

We just finished our EOC remediation and it was a blessing to be able to provide them with a snack to participate and also help increase their knowledge before testing. Once again we thank you!”

  • Keeping Those Boards Clean!

    Funded Nov 17, 2021

Thank you once again for your kind donations to this project. My students enjoy using the whiteboards in the classroom and they also enjoy coming up to the main board to work warm up problems. Sometimes the board even when erased leave behind some marks and my students always want a new board. With your help we can now just use our board cleaner and get all the stained marks removed. We clean them after each use to make sure they are clear for the next group if time permits. We are grateful for your kindness which gives us the opportunity to have clean boards!”

  • Erasing Those Mistakes in Math!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you once again for your kind and thoughtful donations to this project. We have used lots of markers and the dry erase boards to give math a little more fun and color. My students have utilized the erasers to clear the boards and even used the expo board cleaner to make sure the boards we had were clean for the next class to use. In my classroom the students enjoy playing zip zap zop which is a game we pull a problem and solve it on the boards and all teams who have the correct answer get 20 points and the first team with the correct answer gets to pick from the game board which includes numbers from 0-1000 along with zip(cut a teams points in half), zap(send a team to 0) and zop)switch points with a group. Thanks again for the erasers so we can erase each problem and be ready for the next one!”

    Funded Dec 20, 2021

Thank you so much for your kind donations! This was right in time for the new semester to help my students organize their math notes with a little color! It seems small but it is very helpful in more ways than one and once again thank you for helping us!”

My students strive each day to achieve their goals and dreams of attending college and I strive to make sure they have every opportunity possible to allow this dream to come true. I always remind them that no matter what obstacle gets in their path, that they can over come it by working together as a team. STEM is one of my students passions and we are now turning STEM into STEAM by introducing art into our classroom. My students need bright colored paper, notebook paper, pencils and highlighters in various colors. We will be turning our normal activities into a more visual way of learning, which will help my students continue to grow and learn. My students will use the notebook paper and pencils to create various sketches and poems that correlates with the various topics in our curriculum we are studying. They will use the paper in various colors and highlighters to finish their sketches and poems in a more visual presentation. My students will be able to expand their normal learning styles by having access to these materials in our classroom daily. By giving my students the opportunity to incorporate art into our STEM lessons, they will find even more rewarding avenues to travel while they are learning. Thank you for considering to support my students through this project.
