Sensory items that also help with fine motor will help my students gain independence and progress in self-regulation. All of the students in my classroom struggle with sensory regulation and fine motor skills. The best way for my students to work on sensory regulation is through using the tools specifically designed for them! A major focus in my classroom is helping students gain independence. Individuals with disabilities deserve to have the most independence possible. To do this, students need tools to help with sensory integration and fine motor control. With the items I am asking for, my students will be able to make so much progress toward their independence goals. Students will be able to learn letters and sounds through a water sensory experience, gain independence in leisure activities through playing with sensory beads and dough, and work on learning colors through a sensory sorting. The items meet my students' needs in more ways than one. Everything is an opportunity for learning, and independence is the goal!
