A smile comes over my face when I see my kiddos walk through the door ready to learn. I have the joy of working with enthusiastic, energetic, creative, and an inventive class of first graders. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. I teach in a small, rural community. We are a Title One school and welcome the diversity of our students. Our focus in 1st grade is to help our firsties to learn to LOVE learning. They love reading, writing, math, science, and technology, by working together with our "school family". They are like sponges and soak up every bit of information that they can get each day. My goal is to give them a solid foundation in 1st grade that will provide them with the basic fundamental skills to help them throughout their lives. These children are our future leaders.
