My students are very driven individuals. In our group we have 8th-12th graders that represent the indoor percussion ensemble for Southaven High School. They perform in gymnasiums all over the southern region of the country. Their goal is to go further and compete nationally in Dayton, OH. Providing mallets for them will allow us to take a breather on financial struggles so we can continue to plan for our travels and pay competition fees. Plus, each musician is using different types of mallets right now so on a technical side, they aren't able to execute dynamics correctly which hurts their learning in musicality. The ensemble uses mics for sound purposes and that amplifies the uneven sounds on the keyboards. Having the right weight and balance with matching mallets helps the students achieve higher goals in the performance arts. Thank you for considering supporting Southaven Indoor Percussion.
