The Sol Center dreams of providing a yoga experience to our elementary students during recess time. This experience would allow students who haven't found their place at recess to have a safe space to exercise their minds and bodies. They will not have to search for that elusive friend on the playground at recess but, rather, they will know their exact location. The Sol Center offers an alternative refuge to the playground through yoga exercises geared towards student learning and social connection. This yoga experience for students provides an opportunity for them to learn how to manage stress through breathing and healthy movement, increase self-confidence and self-image, and be a part of healthy, non-competitive group where they have a common thread that bonds, yoga. We are requesting yoga mats to support this activity.
