Students enter my classroom daily, and view it as their second home. In my bandhall, they are all welcome, and treated like family. Our band has received countless accolades, including a City of Houston Mayoral Proclamation and an Award of Congressional Recognition. For the second consecutive year, our program has doubled in enrollment. Also, mold has hit our room and affected half of our instruments. Although the instruments are being professionally cleaned, many of the incoming freshmen do not have access to an instrument. My students are in need of mouthpieces, sousaphone stands, drumheads, and other accessories for this upcoming school year to use with the instruments once they are repaired.
