My scholars are in need of leveled books that cater to their actual level. Coming into first grade, our scholars are expected to begin the year at a level D, however, many of my scholars come in at below or severely below reading levels. Sadly, even some are considered to be non-readers. It saddens me when one of my scholars becomes frustrated with a book that is too difficult because I lack a completely leveled library. I want to give my students every opportunity too reach their reading level goals! We need books that would help the students gain the necessary skills to read and write on level. I want to be able to provide the right level for my scholars to practice and gain a love of reading! Since the majority of my scholars do not have access to books at home, it is important that I have the right resources to help them reach their full potential!
