Increasing the technology available will have profound qualitative and quantitative impacts on my students’ classroom experience. I am hoping to fund these 3 laptops, in addition to buying 2 laptops on my own, so that we can have laptops as a daily math center in our classroom. Laptops in the classroom open a world of possibilities for instructional implementation. Students would be able to work through differentiated online modules, practice for state assessments, research various topics, get practice with typing their answers to our daily word problems, the list goes on and on. With daily access to laptops in the classroom, students will be able to get onto sites aimed at increasing math fluency, deepening understanding, and practicing test taking skills. The benefits of having increased access to technology in the classroom are innumerable and will have a lasting influence beyond their time in 3rd grade.
