I am requesting funding for a set of CPR training mannequins for my JROTC citizenship class curriculum. Our curriculum covers basic first aid, CPR Rescue Breathing, and steps for evaluating a casualty as a First Responder. The training mannequins will be used for practical exercises during class and during realistic scenario-based training as a means of supplementing the textbook instruction. This will help me better instruct and build the confidence of my students in live-saving steps. This project is designed to take the basic first responder instruction to the next level while building the students' confidence in their abilities and that of their peers. The desired end state is to equip my students with useful knowledge and practical application to better enable each to help others as a contributing member of the community should the need or opportunity arise.
