I would like an Ipad to give my students the best instruction include Covid home days. I am a big proponent for students engaging in the their learning process through verbal expression.Sometimes their verbal responses can be best augmented or facilitated by just written responses. Student sometime speak in their terms or language, kid speak. Teachers use exact language when talking with students using intentional vocabulary and syntax. Students sometimes can break through with their language and speak to other students in a way teachers can't. Kids speak in kid language. A teacher can also engage a students at their desks. They may not wanting to stand in front of the class by handing them a tablet at their desk I can support while they present. In my experience students are more willing to engage in this less threatening and supported environment. They volunteer more often. This make my lessons a better experience for all students. The with the addition of the tablet projected on a whiteboard allows me to engage students in the class area. I can wander with students and not be pinned to the whiteboard. This is a big improvement in the academic and behavior within the classroom as teacher proximity has been report to increase both. In addition in this era of covid this technology is a huge asset if we ever need days of online and home instruction. I would have a portable whiteboard. I could use it everyday. I am asking for an Apple tablet specifically because my classroom has an Apple Tv.
