Headphones are an essential tool for English Language Learners. When each student has their own pair of headphones, they are able to take charge of their own growth and learning and move at their own pace. We are incorporating blended learning into our classroom through videos and readings. When all of my students have their own pairs of headphones, they will be able to individually listen to the audio readings of our classroom stories. Additionally, they will be able to hear short videos and clips during class. This will allow them to move at their own pace and process the content more easily. Headphones will also reduce general classroom volume, creating a more calm and productive environment overall. Some of my students are all able to bring headphones from home, but this resource is not available to all students. Our classroom needs a set of headphones that all students can benefit from.
