Students will use journals throughout this semester to explore a variety of art exercises and concepts. They will record new vocabulary and add to their personal sketchbooks at home. It will all be held in one notebook that they can be proud of. Throughout the year the journal will be used to help organize projects as well as to show their learning throughout the year. Students will discuss, dream and plan for their futures and use their own hopes and dreams to inspire others through stories. In conjunction with their Engineering and Physics teacher, students will incorporate mechanisms and LED lighting systems into the pages of their book. Using a variety of watercolor, paper art, and book binding techniques, students will create a personal book art project and share their stories with their community when finished.
