My students are English Learners from throughout the Caribbean and South America. They struggle to use English dictionaries because they are so used to using their phones for translation. Translation on-line is often faulty, and not allowed during testing for any class, or on standardized tests. I want my students to learn to use student friendly dictionaries. I have one copy of this Student Spanish-English dictionary and it is passed around my class like a hot potato. It is user friendly, as well as it provides many visuals for students. Often, a student will read a definition, and still not be able to come up with a picture in their mind. I hope these dictionaries can help with that problem.
