My kindergarten and first grade students and I will use these games and materials to learn math and language art skills. They will use the games and other materials during our center times where students will be working independently, with partners, or in small groups. Having highly engaging activities helps them access grade level skills and work for longer periods of time so that I am able to more effectively differentiate instruction and help support them in reaching grade level expectations. I will use the music and books to keep studnets engaged during whole class instruction. The donations from this project will help keep students engaged, make the classroom a more fun environment, and support my ability to differentiate instruction for my combination class. Having a variety of activities also allows for more developmental play that some of my students often miss out on because of the challenges they face at home.
