The goal within the robotics class is to create and compete within the Vex Robotics Competition. This year, we are competing in Tipping Point. Students are to pick up mobile goals and rings to score on an elevated platform. What we are missing in order to do work more effectively towards this goal is the ability to cut metal. Vex Robotics currently only sells 20, 25, and 35 size metal pieces. We currently do not have the ability to cut down these pieces. With the tools listed, we could cut four pieces of metal and smooth them down so there are no cuts in less than 30 minutes. The sizes we would cut them down to are 10, 15, and 30. This would allow students to create the pieces they need to make their robot.
