My name is Mr. Smith and I teach the most energetic, funniest, and smartest 7th graders. This group of 7th graders are very special to me because this is my first-year teaching, and it is important to me that I provide them with everything they need to be successful not only during this school year but life after school. Through my years of school, I have built incredible relationships with teachers. Teachers earn the trust of their kids, we give the best of ourselves daily, we teach and learn from them, and most part ways with their kids after the school year. However, my experience in education has made me a very humble individual. Our school, YesPrep Southside, is in a disadvantaged area of Houston, Texas. Many of my students face challenging situation outside of school and they need all the support they can get.
