A lot of the books in my cart have a strong male lead which is something that is seriously lacking in my library currently. Many of the novels I currently have are heavily directed at female students. Novels like Hatchet, Percy Jackson, and Night have been picked in the hopes of providing some diversity in my library. I want to provide necessary materials for my students. Many of the books I have requested like, The Maze Runner, The Outsiders, or Fahrenheit 451, are all taught in my classroom and can serve as another option for students who may need a book provided in class that day for whatever reason.
