Do you remember carpet time in elementary school? Unfortunately, my students do not have that luxury. A classroom carpet is great for reading stories to whole group instruction, I believe it is important for the students to be able to come together all in one space. Students will be in a comfortable space and will not have sit on a cold, tile floor or stay seated at their desk during whole group instruction or story time. We will be able to hold classroom meetings to start our day off on a positive note. Students will have a cozy working area when completing centers, if a group decides to sit on the floor. Also, some students struggle with traditional seating. I have also asked for flexible seating to make learning easier for students who struggle with sitting still. Flexible seating is an option to allow the student to move, but will still be able to concentrate on the lesson. The chairs are made to wobble and move as the student is becoming antsy. I genuinely appreciate your time and consideration in helping to make my students learning environment a little more comfortable.
