My students need three Kindle Fire tablets with Cases, plus headphones and two splitters, to provide an engaging way to access various grade level books. These tablets will be used by my 1st Grade Inclusion classroom. The tablets will allow ALL of my students to access not only grade appropriate text but also text that are differentiated to their specific reading levels. The use of the tablets will allow the students to listen to stories, implement reading strategies to access the texts and support with reading sight words. With the tablets, students will have the ability of working with a partner on the same tablet to partner read and listen to stories together. With the headphone splitter, more than one student can use a tablet at a time which would lead to more a cooperative learning experience. After having read a book together, students can expose themselves to having powerful conversations related to books that they both have enjoyed. The tablets provide engagement to students to help continue their love of learning. The tablets will help with my first grade students reading fluency, stamina, decoding abilities and confidence. Your generous donation will allow ALL my students to receive access to appropriate books that can read and enjoy.
