After every year of teaching I think I can't love the next group of kids more than this year's. I've been wrong every single year. It pains me to learn about some of their home lives and the environments they accept as normal. However, you would never know they were struggling if you saw them reading through a passage with a partner, solving a two-digit plus two-digit math problem or running around on the playground with their friends. It's moments like these that define these children. I know these students come to school and it's a moment of respite for most to know they are safe, cared for and loved at a place that wants the best for them. They are the most generous and honest group of students if you believe in them.

About my class
