This year my students are departmentalized for the first time. This is going to be a huge adjustment for them. My goal is to make a space for small group that students feel safe and comfortable. The materials requested (including chart paper, post-its, and more) will be used to create interactive anchor charts that can be used among the three classes I will teach ELA to. I would like to add additional seating for the students to make them feel more comfortable as I teach. Instead of sitting in a desk they can use clipboards and work as they see fit. It is my hope that I will see greater success and effort from the students who feel at "home" in our room.
