All it takes is one good book to make a lifelong reader. As an avid reader and lover of literature, I have experienced the way books can take you to new worlds and build empathy as you experience the world through another person's eyes. Books have the ability to broaden horizons and build connections. These books will help make my classroom library an engaging and enriching place for my students to grow and learn about themselves and each other as they read about places and people both similar and different from their own experiences. Literacy is powerful. The literacy and life skills gained through reading have the ability to push and guide students towards their goal of college readiness.
