My students need a class set of recorders. While some students elect to purchase their own recorder to use during music class, other students are not able to do so. Also, many students forget their instruments at home a few times throughout the year. I have one class set of recorders which is a crucial part of my classroom. However, I teach recorder to two classes during the day. Having a second class set would ensure that students in both classes have recorders to use that are properly cleaned and ready for them. Learning to play recorder allows students to apply what they have learned about notation, melody, rhythm, composition, and improvisation. It also provides opportunities for students to exercise a growth mindset when presented with the challenge of performing new songs on the instrument. Most students also find the recorder to be a lot of fun! Thank you for helping my students grow as musicians.
