I am requesting a cassette player with ports for eight headphones, new headphones and portable CD players. I have purchased many books on tape and CD's for my students to become familiar with the English language. They will have the opportunity to hear sounds of letters, words, rhymes and patterns. These listening stations will help my students become ready for reading and to improve their reading. My students need to have many opportunities to hear lots of rhymes and patterns, since most of them are English Language Learners. By hearing the stories and songs, students will be exposed to lots of new words that they haven't heard before. By knowing the words to the stories and songs, they can begin to read the words in the books.
