The tablets I am requesting are going to play a key role in a technological shift I am making in my classroom. On of the most challenging aspects of teaching a diverse population is finding ways to challenges all learners at all times. Technology provides multiple solutions to this challenge. The tablets will allow me to record and distribute videos with instructions specific to each level of learning. The video recording aspect of the tablets will allow students to demonstrate their learning in varied formats and to display that learning in a setting outside of the classroom. The more technology I can incorporate into the classroom the more I will be able to tailor my instruction to each individual learner. The most important aspect of incorporating technology into my classroom is that it will help to empower my students and allow them to see the potential they have to change the world they live in. The shift in technology will allow for more project and community based learning. My hope is that this will provide the students a context for learning that shows them why their education matters and how they can use their education to improve no only themselves but also their communities.
