My students represent a diverse group of 1st and 2nd graders who come from a wide range of socioeconomic, linguistic and cultural backgrounds. They are struggling readers who may or may not receive extra academic support from home. They love small group and individual reading instruction with me! As a teacher, it is so rewarding to see the reading progress my students make. I work closely with their classroom teachers to make sure they transfer reading skills into the classroom. I also coordinate with teachers to communicate about progress and struggles so we can work as a team to increase students chances of success.
