Novel studies are a great way to review and focus on all the comprehension topics we cover during the year. Some of these include summarizing, asking questions while reading, and identifying author's purpose. We want to be able to do novel studies on a smaller-scale based on student need. Because our students have a broad range of reading levels, we would love to have a wide variety of books for all reading levels. Our goal is to expose our students to different types of literature, while practicing comprehension and reading strategies we have learned throughout the year. This will be done in a small group "book club" style setting.
