I teach preschool special education in Cleveland Municipal School District. The children in my classroom are ages 3-5 years old and each have some type of disability or disabilities. Our classroom has 2 sessions - a morning and afternoon - each session has 8 children enrolled. Children may begin in my classroom as soon as they turn 3 years old if they have been assessed and it is determined that they have a disability. The disabilities represented in the classroom at any given time are but not limited to Autism, Cognitive Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury, Speech and Language Disabilities, Physical Disabilities.
