Ever since we started school 2nd grade has never felt the same. Many of my students do not have the basic supplies at their homes. Some of my students have felt the effects of this pandemic too close to home. Their parents have lost jobs, they have lost loved ones, and the safe haven that the physical school building provides. It is extremely hard for the students to be fully engaged while sitting in front of a computer all day. Notebooks, pencils, crayons, and whiteboards will allow my students to be fully immersed in their virtual learning. The whiteboards will allow me to quickly see student responses to gear my instruction toward their needs in the moment. The index cards will help my students build sight word games which they can play with their families. All of these supplies would mean a great deal to my students and their families.
