My students have moderate to severe disabilities. Virtual learning independently is impossible for 12 out of 14 of the students. In March when we went to remote learning, my team teacher and I taught our students live every day for three hours. If it were not for the assistance of each parent, this would not have been possible. On September 8th, our students will be going back into the school building. In order to keep them socially distant, I have to set up space for each one. The use of the privacy tents will provide extra protection as well as a personal space for 8 of the 14 students. One of the students is medically fragile and will be participating remotely. The other 5 students are in wheelchairs and cannot be confined to such a small space. I believe that this extra set up protection and personal space will not only assist in student success in academics, but also provide parents with a greater sense of security and safety when it comes to the health of their children.
