I am excited about creating a classroom with flexible seating for children because it allows for different climates throughout the classroom. The children are allowed to honor their natural body movements through their learning. For example with a round table that lowers, children can sit around playing with play dough, playing a card game in a relaxing environment while sitting on comfortable cushions. I imagine the children painting at a table or easel siting on a wobble chair as they close their eyes enjoying the music and visualizing their masterpiece. These wobble chairs can be used at a desk or easels. They give children the ability to fidget, move or relax while they work. I envision the children during circle, story or share time sitting on the carpet having plenty of room to wiggle or bringing a cushion or chair if needed. It also provides my classroom with a clean fresher, more welcoming classroom.
