As we re-entered the classroom this year, we had to make sure all the tools needed to re-establish a supportive and structured classroom environment were ready. One of the most important tools to create that environment for children impacted by Autism is bright and clear visual supports. Many of our students require additional supports this year related to social, emotional, and communication content. Your donation will go directly to replenishing our color printer ink, so that the teachers in our special education program can create supportive visuals for our students both in the classroom and at home. Visual supports provide reminders and guidance to students in a non-verbal format, which can benefit students with sensory processing difficulties, like those impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder and other disabilities. These resources are often combined with firm paper, lamination, binders, etc., to allow for long term use in our rooms. So, the money donated will go towards supporting students for years to come!
